You are my ticket to the moon,
An escape - high above this barren life.
You show me the sunrise,
Through your eyes,
I see me - invincible, inconsequential.
Everything seems possible,
For this misery is but another grain of sand.
Bathed in that sunlight, I’m whole.
I’m me - whoever I want to be.
You see through the facade, my mask of courage,
You know the face behind the fear.
I feel alive,
Exhilaration breaking my every rule.
Freedom, I can feel in my soul,
Floating through space,
Free from all things mortal.
Renewed hope and fresh perspective,
And now, I conquer the universe.
The higher I fly,
The closer we get.
The higher I fly,
The harder I fall,
Fall into myself.
Gravity - my final thread of reality - pulls me back.
I suppose, there is a universe inside me.
I only need to look into the eyes staring back at me,
For all that separates us is this mirror.
